Synopsis
Nostalgia for the future is a film based on the life and work of Chris Marker. A documentary essay about memory, history, nostalgia and how images of the past shape our future. A fictitious archivist (Kristien De Proost) investigates whether we can form an image of a person on the basis of the work he left behind. Gradually, the essence of the archive as the seat of our collective memory itself is being questioned.
