56 turns of the crank to wind back time. Told and absorbed 56 times, the past becomes the present once more. So that history speaks to us of feelings, because, deep down, that is all there is—feelings—before our stories become grand narratives with a capital N. 56 Times and Again is a subjective exploration of the Hungarian Revolution, through various archives, a plunge into the heart of 1950s Communist Europe: productivism, lies, betrayal, amnesia—an era we must now remember.
