On the off beat
Dirk Wauters is a sculptor, drummer and percussionist. For the past 30 years, every day, he has photographed himself, filmed himself, drawn, written and recorded a musical improvisation. He then catalogues and files all these documents in folders that preserve a record of his experiences. Whilst recording, in the manner of a scientist, the passage of a lifetime, Dirk’s work transcends his own person, as it prompts everyone to reflect on their relationship with time and their own lives.
