In 1956, on the advice of his friend Jean Monnet, Louis Carré bought a plot of land in the Paris region to build a new house. Wil Grohmann, a Berlin art critic, then put him in touch with the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who completed the house three years later. This historical anecdote is the starting point for a journey across Europe that connects the Carré house and the experimental house built in Finland by Aalto, with buildings located in Brussels, Venice, and Porto. These places, whose history resonates with European history, weave together a shared space. This space, through knowledge derived from science, questions the existence of boundaries between things and evokes the possibility of forging new paths within the European space.
