In *Saule Marceau*, Juliette Achard sets out to take us, along with her brother Clément, on a quest to rediscover the Westerns of their childhood. But she is soon caught up in the reality of a different, modern-day Western: that of her brother trying to set up his farming business. She then meticulously and carefully crafts a subtle film about a cowboy, a real one, alone against everyone (or almost everyone); all the while drawing on the magic that cinema can conjure. Whether it’s an unfinished film or a dream film, it matters little: this film is the ‘Saule Marceau’ of their childhood, which both fascinates and raises questions.
