Aya Tanaka

Japanese filmmaker

Born in Tokyo in 1974, she has resided in Belgium since 1993. After studying French at the University of Lille, she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Liège and a bachelor's degree in information and communication, specializing in screenwriting and analysis, from the Free University of Brussels. Since September 2000, she has taught Japanese at the Berlitz Language Center. In 2004, she directed the documentary "Harimano," for which she received the French Community Audiovisual Workshops Prize for her screenplay in 2001.
