A Spanish filmmaker whose eclectic work has left its mark on European cinema, particularly in the horror and social drama genres.
Jordi Grau was born in Barcelona. After studying at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome, he embarked on a multifaceted career as a director, screenwriter, playwright, and painter.
Although he explored numerous genres (documentary, socially engaged, and experimental cinema), he became a cult figure for his contributions to genre cinema during the 1960s and 1970s. His work is recognized for its modernity and visual audacity, often addressing themes of social critique within the framework of genre narratives.
