Jos De Putter

Dutch filmmaker
Jos de Putter was born in 1959 in Terneuzen, the Netherlands. After studying political science and literature at Leiden University, he began his career as a film critic for Skrien magazine. A filmmaker of documentary, he gained recognition with his first feature film for a contemplative style that often avoids voice-over narration, preferring to let the images and sounds tell the story. He works regularly for Dutch television (VPRO) and has collaborated with Cobra Films on the co-production of some of his international projects.
His films explore the cycles of life, the consequences of conflict, and the complex relationship between humans, animals, and their environment.
