Sandra Kogut

Brazilian filmmaker

Born in 1965 in Rio de Janeiro, Sandra Kogut is a multifaceted artist of Hungarian origin. She began her career in visual arts and experimental video before establishing herself on the international film scene. A globetrotter, she has lived in France and the United States, teaching at prestigious universities such as Harvard (Radcliffe Institute). Her work is distinguished by its nuanced analysis of social tensions and questions of identity, often treated with a blend of realism and poetry.

She remains a key figure for understanding contemporary Brazil, using her camera to capture the "invisible signs" of political and social change.
