Tulin Ozdemir

Belgian-Turkish filmmaker

Tülin Özdemir is a Belgian-Turkish director born in 1976 in Brussels. Her academic and professional journey is marked by a transition from physical space to cinematic space:

Initial Training: A graduate of the Saint-Luc Higher School of Art in Brussels, she initially worked for several years as an interior designer and set designer. 

Cinematic Turn: She then enrolled at INSAS (National Institute of Performing Arts) to study directing, and later completed her training with a Master's degree in creative documentary and visual anthropology at S.I.C. (Sound Image Culture).

Style: Her films, often told from a first-person perspective, use travel and intimate exploration to deconstruct traditions and examine her own Anatolian origins.
