Inhale/Exhale

2009
The hospital in Liepāja, Latvia, has twelve floors. Each floor has its own speciality, ranging from trauma care to addiction treatment, from the maternity ward to palliative care, where the dying spend their final days. The film is intended as a journey through life, starting from the different floors of the hospital. A narrative in seven stages, much like Shakespeare’s view of human life in his poem ‘The Seven Ages of Man’. Seven moments, from the very beginning of a person’s life to their final breath.
