Little by little the Orient

2000
Beirut in Lebanon, Aleppo in Syria, Tel Aviv in Israel and Ramallah in Palestine: four stops in four countries of the Middle East whose peoples have been tearing each other apart for a century. Haunted by these wars and this hatred, the Lebanese director set out in search of a different Middle East, a more subdued, more intimate Middle East, “one that simmers in kitchens and gets lost in the labyrinth of identities”. The director thus gathers several accounts from women about their circumstances, traditions and attitudes.
