The blood of others

Under Article 9ter of the so-called ‘Aliens Act’, men, women and families with children have applied for residence in Belgium on medical grounds. Since 2012, the Immigration Office has almost systematically rejected all such applications, and those whose applications have been rejected are issued with an order to leave the country. They suffer from serious illnesses that could prove fatal in the short term if they do not receive the appropriate treatment.
