Lost Land
Bisected by a 2,400 km wall built by the Moroccan army, Western Sahara is today divided in two: one occupied by Morocco, the other controlled by the Western Sahara Liberation Front (Polisario). Through stories of flight and exile, endless waiting, and lives halted and persecuted, from both sides of the wall, this film bears witness to the Sahrawi people, their territory, and their confinement within the dreams of both sides. With an aesthetic that elevates reality, Lost Territory resonates like a contrasting score of soundscapes, black-and-white portraits, and nomadic poetry.
