During surgery, the filmmaker takes a camera with him. He loses consciousness. We are here, in the worlds he traverses, on the edge of speech, at the limits of the body. Where borders painfully separate. Borders of prison, of the street, of war, of the mind. It is from this shattered mirror of reality that the gaze of the other falls upon us. This other who could be ourselves.
