Annik Leroy

Annik Leroy is a Belgian director and artist whose work lies at the crossroads of documentary cinema, film essay, and installation. Trained at INSAS, she has been developing a personal body of work since the 1990s that questions historical memory, ideologies, and the traces left by political violence in Europe. Her films, such as Vers la mer (1999), Dormir, dormir dans les pierres (2013), and TREMOR — Es ist immer Krieg (2017), explore the links between landscapes, archives, testimonies, and sounds, in a sensory and reflective cinematic style. His work is regularly presented at international festivals, film archives and contemporary art spaces.
